The Honda HR-V is the international counterpart of the Japanese Honda Vezel, a compact crossover car without hybrid powertrain. Several years ago, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited debuted the first-generation Honda HRV in Pakistan. Now, the second generation is ready. The first-generation Honda HR-V, also known as the Honda Vezel Hybrid and the Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle in Pakistan, is virtually identical to the Hi-rider with just a few minor aesthetic changes, most notably a redesigned front grille and hybrid technology.
It has been six years since Honda Atlas introduced the HR-V to the Pakistani auto market in January 2016. At the time, the CBU unit for the automobile cost PKR 3.6 million. Due to increased competition, the Honda HR-V was unable to successfully capture the market’s sales, and as a result it was unable to endure and sustain itself against its escalating competition.
Let’s explore the elements that drove the automakers to make this decision. According to certain sources, Honda Atlas is currently striving to resuscitate the Honda HR-V.
Auto enthusiasts were thrilled when HACL began testing the HR-V in Pakistan a few months ago. The 11th generation Honda Civic test car was spotted in the photos wearing the same camouflage as the SUV, which was eventually introduced in Pakistan. It was made evident in later updates that HACL had in fact brought the SUV over for testing.
Early in 2021, Honda unveiled the HR-V, also known as the Honda Vezel in Japan, to take on crossovers like the Toyota C-HR, Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Juke, and others.
In February 2021, the most current Honda HR-V generation made its debut, and it has since been sold in a vast number of countries, including the bulk of Asian markets. Remember that the product that is now being launched in Malaysia is the test version, which appears to be the same that has previously been issued in Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan. With a modified fascia that resembles the Honda ZR-V sold in the Chinese market, the model that was presented in the US is different from that model.
It includes an electric hybrid option among its many possible powertrains for various markets. The HR-V comes equipped with a variety of cutting-edge Honda Sensing features, including a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane Assist, automatic braking, traffic sign reading, lane departure warning, and more.
The Honda HR-V, commonly referred to as Honda Vezel in the domestic Japanese market, is substantially unlike from the vehicle it replaces. The design largely borrows features from coupes, including a slanted rear hatch. It’s strange that the front doesn’t have the typical solid wing face. The tall, wide headlights and more vertical snout give the car the appearance of being larger and more frightening.
The majority of Vezel and HR-V models are equipped with six airbags, parking sensors, smart infotainment, temperature control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, hill-start assist, hill descent control, electronic parking brake, and other amenities.
The HR-V has a 1.5L i-VTEC gasoline engine coupled to a CVT, a 1.5L i-VTEC turbo engine, and an e: HEV hybrid powertrain coupled to an e-CVT and two electric motors. Based on the test mule’s wheels, we may surmise that Honda Atlas imported a hybrid HR-V model even though the range-topping RS variant also comes in hybrid e: CVT form.
On the import invoice, the SUV’s price was given as Rs. 6.05 million, which looks like a fair amount.
This may be fantastic news for Honda HR-V lovers, but we’re not quite hooked on it In any scenario, few months ago a test vehicle was also spotted on neighbourhood roads which means honda is near to completion. Uncertainty surrounds the type of vehicle seen in the images, as well as whether the business will introduce this vehicle hybrid version of HR-V or a simple HR-V .
The newest Honda HR-V generation was introduced in the US and will go on sale by the end of the year, so keep that in mind. The unit that was captured, supposing it is an HR-V, isn’t actually that vehicle; rather, it is a similar new model.
Additionally, according to certain sources and rumours, Honda is also getting ready to introduce two new models in Pakistan, including the brand new BR-V, which will replace the present model, which has been on the market since 2016, and the new HR-V, which is now a given. Although no exact release date has been announced as of yet, it is predicted that the HR-V will start to be made available before the end of this year.
